Your data and uninstalling

This article covers what TradeCheck stores, what happens when you uninstall, and how customer data requests work. What TradeCheck stores TradeCheck stores the business details buyers enter, the ABR check results, PO documents, your settings, your blocked ABNs, and your storage connections. It also keeps the store's name and owner contact details, and the details of the staff member who installed the app. Shopify stores the order and customer metafields and the order tags TradeCheck writes. They stay in Shopify after you uninstall. Uninstalling When you uninstall, TradeCheck stops working straight away. It keeps your data for 48 hours, in case you reinstall. After 48 hours, Shopify asks TradeCheck to delete the store's data, and TradeCheck deletes the details, PO documents, settings, blocked ABNs and storage connections. TradeCheck deletes PO documents from TradeCheck storage and from any bucket you connected. If TradeCheck can't reach your bucket, for example because you removed the access key first, the files stay in your bucket and you need to delete them yourself. If you reinstall within 48 hours, your settings and data are still there. Open the app once after reinstalling. Customer data requests When a customer asks Shopify to delete their data, TradeCheck deletes the details and PO documents on that customer's orders. When a customer asks Shopify for a copy of their data, the TradeCheck team answers the request by hand. Pass these questions to the team.
